Eventually, after Superman founded the One-Earth Regime, Cyborg believed her dead. Early in her tenure as part of the Teen Titans, she quickly formed a romantic relationship with Dick Grayson, then known as Robin, the leader of the team. In order to make her identity more in keeping with that of the human race, she assumed the pseudonym “Kory Anders”. Koriand’r chose to remain with the team, taking on the name “Starfire”. Koriand’r escaped and eventually found her way to Earth, where she gained the assistance of the Teen Titans. While everyone was distracted, Koriand’r broke free, using her newfound powers, which she would also use to rescue her sister, who would immediately overpower Koriand’r and arrange for her execution. During the proceedure, Tamaranean forces loyal to Komand’r came to her rescue. Koriand’r’s father, King Myand’r, turned his own daughter over to the citadel, where she would endure six years of torture and sexual abuse until both she and Komand’r were turned over to the sadistic scientists known as the Psions, who would experiment on the two sisters, to test how much energy their bodies were capable of safely absorbing. Using Komand’r’s insight, the Citadel invaded Tamaran. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warriors of Okaara, the bitter Komand’r ran off and allied herself with the fascistic interplanetary empire known as the Citadel. Her sister, Komand’r was first in line to succession, but owing to an illness that stripped her of her natural ability to convert ultraviolet light into flight energy, she was deemed unfit to rule, and so the title of Queen would fall to Koriand’r. Koriand’r was the second of three children.
